Eclisse Spotlight: How did they re-invent the pocket door?

WindsorONE is a family owned and operated company based in California, with manufacturing in the town of Willits in Northern California. Weyerhaeuser and WindsorONE strive to build relationships at all levels of the supply channel, enabling both companies to stay ahead and prepare for market changes and customer needs.

Anderson Moulding Doors & Windows’ spotlight this week is on one of our most popular vendors Weather Shield! We sell Weather Shield at both of our locations; Culver City and Gardena. This week we had an interview with some of the Weather Shield team and we’re excited to share what we’ve learned.

Q: Please tell us about the company and its foundation.

A: Back in 1955, Edward “Lee” Schield began with a vision and used his own personal savings to purchase aluminum extrusion parts. He assembled them, by hand, into storm doors and sold his products to homeowners in the Central Wisconsin area. Schield soon expanded his business by calling on contractors and while the number of orders continued to increase, the foundation of becoming a leading manufacturer of windows and doors was underway.

EL & EL Wood Products has been crafting quality millwork products since 1966 and is a leading supplier of molding and doors in the western United States. The business was originally established by Ben Lynch and Frnak Lindy and is now headquartered in Chino,CA. The company originally wanted to be named “L & L Wood Products” but another business in the area had a similar name so thats how EL & EL came to be.
