This week we’re digging deeper with Steve Prado, the general manger of the Kelleher Corporation to find out more about the company and the new products we can expect to see. Kelleher can be found at both of our showrooms in Culver City and Gardena.
Q: Hi Steve! Thank you for taking the time to let us learn more about Kelleher. Can you give me a little insight about the company and its foundation?
A: Since 1970, the Kelleher Corporation has been a leader in the moulding and lumber industry and today is one of the largest distributors of wood moulding and accessories in the western United States. We represent some of the finest wood moulding mills in the United States and throughout the world, to provide a diverse range of products at affordable prices with over 200 employees and a large network of sales and distribution facilities. Kelleher is dedicated to providing retailers with a reliable supply of high quality products and excellent customer service. This commitment to our founding principles is still visible today and continues to lay the foundation for our future success.
Q: When it comes to Kelleher, what do you consider to be your specialty products?
A: Specialty products we have are wood mouldings, columns, flexible moulding, signature series FJ primed mouldings, waxed end pine boards, KD VG fir lumber, KD redwood lumber, ACX plywood and Rogue Valley stile and rail doors.
Q: Kelleher is very popular among our customers, in your eyes what do you think is the top seller and why?
A: Definitely the MDF Mouldings. This is driven by our broad selection of MDF Ultralight moulding profiles, the quality of the product, and the affordability of MDF compared to other wood species. Today’s Southern California Moulding Market was built on Arauco’s TruChoice MDF Ultralight Mouldings. Kelleher is Arauco’s largest distributor in California. We are very proud of our partnership with Arauco and the high quality of products we are able to distribute to our customers.
Q: What makes Kelleher better than the competition?
A: Our people. We have a very large group of employees throughout the organization that have been with The Kelleher Corporation for 20 years and longer. This loyal group of moulding and lumber professionals are the reason Kelleher is able to perform, day in and day out, as a successful extension of our customer’s business.
